The Polar RS200SD is designed and tailored specifically for runners who are looking to increase their speed and distance. The "RS" stands for Running Sports and the "SD" stands for Speed and Distance. While it's been a few years since this product has been released by Polar, buyers out in the market for a heart rate monitor continue to look to this specific model because of its breakthrough technology at its cost. Although it is designed specifically for running sports, you're still able to jump in the pool for a quick swim afterwards and track your zones.

Pros:

For tracking your Speed and Distance, the Polar RS200SD really seems like it comes with few complaints. Users seem to be very happy with its interface and it gets the job done accurately with minimal frustrations. You can customize 5 different screens each with three lines of information to display the data you want and switch between those screens effortlessly. A backlight also comes with it for you night runners.

The "SD" also implies that this heart rate monitor watch comes packaged with Polar's S1 Foot Pod. You'll find that the foot pod is rather durable and doesn't take all that long to get used to while you're running. You won't have much to worry when it comes to batteries because the foot pod will turn itself off after a certain amount of inactivity, pretty nice!

There's nothing cheap about this heart rate monitor. The physical design of the Polar RS200SD is durable and rather sleek and not likely to get in your way. The strap has also been greatly improved to be more comfortable to fit on our chest.

For PRICE, you'll absolutely get your money's worth because this is the least expensive way to get a heart rate monitor tracking and speed and distance tracking, especially with Polar's great reputation.

Cons:

It obviously doesn't come with some features that you may find in more expensive models like Cycling speed and distance, no altimeter, and no GPS. Although, most runners don't need these features and it's just a great stance for the RS200SD because it's designed powerfully and specifically for runners.

The S1 Foot Pod may take a little bit of calibration and getting used to. You also won't know if the foot pod begins to run out of batteries as well. This shouldn't be a deterrent though, the benefits of a foot pod are absolutely clear and you should embrace it.

Here are a list of features for the Polar RS200SD:
• Time display with alarm
• Night light
• 99 lap/split timers
• Calculates calorie expenditure
• Interval trainer
• Wearlink transmitter strap
• Sonic Link to Polar Running Coach web service
• Polar S1 Footpod provides running speed pace and distance
